The person who adopts Mitzi will enjoy an absolutely adorable and sweet pup as long as they continue with very simple reenforcing of the training she’s been given. It’s best if she’s adopted into a male-dog, or no-dog family. Mitzi does not always take corrections well from female dogs who are not alpha - she will scuffle if corrected by a non-alpha female. Some dogs (mostly female), however, are not fans of her big energy bursts. Mitzi spent over 8 months with a family who cares for a pack of dogs and puppies She can get along with everyone. The “stop” command has also come in handy with any unwanted barking, or whining, or tugging, or when people come in the house. She’s also been trained with other high-energy, reactive dogs and has been the pride of the class in terms of not reacting to their energy and impulses. She does not play in open play at dog daycare, but she does go to a dog daycare with foster-dad several times a week to continue to prove she can be calm when lots of different dogs of different energy walk in and out. If she looks a little longer than desired just say “stop”. Very seldom does she fixate on other dogs. She now walks by the side with a very loose lead. This was required because she has had dog reactivity issues while being walked. Mitzi has had extensive training with the “stop” command. She has not been tested with cats but hasn’t shown any issues with puppies of all sizes. At the same time she’s fine when left in a bedroom alone or crate alone She’s amazing in car rides and will go everywhere with you if you let her! When Mitzi is not playing she’s at your feet or on your lap She wants to be by a person as much as possible Can’t get enough love and petting and snuggling. She’s also amazing with puppies as she’s still a puppy herself! She loves to find big boys who like to wrestle and chase.
